Best cycling memory: The Big Red Bike Ride organized by CPGB in '87 & '88 - 13 ppl riding 1000 miles in 2 weeks around England/Wales, staying in 14 cities/stops with members, in aid of small charities; accompanied by a veteran professional & a backup van.
Still have maps & diary and organizer was a climbing enthusiast, so routed past major outcrops to facilitate his evening's clambering! I tried some bouldering, but biking & hospitality impressed the most. Saw publicity on community board of the Drill Hall, Store St, London
